Health & Safety

Steadfast takes the safety of our staff and guests seriously. As such, below are some tips on how to stay healthy and be vigilant with your personal hygiene throughout the Convention.
  • Covering coughs and sneezes with disposable tissues or clothing, or coughing/sneezing into your elbow.
  • Disposing of used tissues appropriately in a bin.
  • Washing hands with soap and water and drying them thoroughly or using hand sanitiser:
    • Before eating or handling food.
    • After using the toilet.
    • After coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose.
It’s also important to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water throughout the Convention. Limit your intake of tea, coffee or alcohol if you are feeling dehydrated.

Here are some good practice tips on responsible drinking:

  • eat before or during drinking.
  • have some food in your stomach which slows down the absorption rate of alcohol.
  • know the standard strength of each drink which is equal to 10g of alcohol.
  • keep track of how many drinks you've had in a specific time period.
  • know your limits.

Importantly, if you start to feel unwell, call your doctor, the nearest hospital emergency department or healthdirect on 1800 022 222.
